I think the fever is coming...

Oh no. I think I am coming down with something.

I didn't want this to happen. At least not yet. It can't be happening now.

Last week my best friend found out she was pregnant.

This is such fantastic news. I am so thrilled for her and she will be the best mother. She is Mini #2's godmother and my children adore her.

I wanted her to take a test for a few days before she actually did, but she waited as she didn't want to be disappointed. Sure enough, I received the positive test text message picture and then the excited phone calls ensued. I can't wait to plan a shower and meet her perfect little one in the coming months.

Lately, I see babies and pregnant women everywhere. Blog friends are popping up pregnant left and right. I went to a baby shower this weekend for one of my college roomates that is expecting a little boy next month.

I never had this happen before...my two minis just sort of happened. However, I am finally getting what others have said for years and it is hitting me.

It's hitting hard. I am getting the baby fever.

Yes, my fever is rising and I may be insane. I mean I have a 4 year old and an almost 18 month old, a husband that is gone all week working out of town, and 1267424 things that I feel overwhelmed with daily.

Oh, I can feel the baby cuddle and smell that sweet baby smell.

I see those baby days slipping away too quickly with Mini #2. She is such a little GIRL now. Don't even get me started on Mini #1...there is absolutely no trace of baby left in that little man. It is really amazing how much they seem to change daily and I spend every waking minute with them.

This is not a good time, especially financially. Mr. who was a driving force behind Mini #2 is not on board yet either, heck, some days I am not either.Ugh.

Hopefully, I can get rid of this fever for now and make it stay away for a while.

HELP!!! :) Have a great day!

  1. Oh! What a fun time for you. Baby fever is such a funny thing. You're such a wonderful mom--I'm glad you & your Mr. want to open your home to another sweet little one!!

  2. I know exactly what you mean. It sneaks up on you. Even though we don't have any children yet... every know and then I am overwhelmed by my want!!

  3. Oh man! I feel you! Just when I put my mind off it, I see something/someone/somewhere else that's all "Baby baby baby!" And then I'm all "Baby baby baby!"

Which proves difficult with my other (and very crucial in this instance) half missing.

Oh, man! If those little wailing poopers weren't so darn cute...

  4. Want to know a secret? The infant stage is SO not my favorite. That helped keep the baby fever at bay for me for a while after I had L. In fact, I am super excited to have this baby, but if you want to come snuggle her (or him, I just think it's a girl) anytime, you just let me know. :)

  5. While I do not have any children yet, I can completely identify with your feelings...I miscarried a few years ago (not something I've talked about on my blog) and have been very nervous to try again. I know we will at some point this year, but for now, most days I am all BABY BABY BABY NOM NOM NOM too ;-) XOXO

  6. I don't know that I've ever had baby fever - which is a good thing since we're not having kids.

I can only imagine what it feels like - maybe like puppy fever for me?

  7. Hard to let go of those baby years. But just about the time you really miss them, they will do something so wonderful to make you love the now years!! Hugs honey! xoxo

  8. Tell me about it. My "baby" is turning 4 this summer! Ignore the fact that I work the equivalent of two full time jobs, baby fever is out of control here!

  9. The baby fever still gets me every now and again, too, and my youngest will be 7 this summer. I miss being pregnant and having a little one. However, knowing that both of mine are in school & their after-school daycare is mere pennies compared to daycare for babies/toddlers. Oh, not to mention they wipe their own butts now, can dress themselves, sleep through the night...ha ha ha. There's more, but I'm drawing a blank right now (because I can hear my two arguing in the living room)...

Yeah, that's when I snap out of it and realize that we're very happy with our two.
