True Style
When discussing style, Spade writes:
"...I can tell you that true style comes from opening yourself to the world around you-to books and movies, to art, to music and travel, and especially to other people."
I know I have more style after sharing in your world and getting to know each of you.
Happy weekend! Today is the last day to enter the MLG "Kick off to Summer" contest! Get entering and be sure to pass along to a friend! Cheers!

On His Way to Therapy!
This conversation occurred yesterday morning:
Mini #1 to me: "Mom, I'm feeling anxious."
Me: "What? What are you anxious about?"
Mini: "I really need to go to the toystore today and get a new Thomas. Mine is old and I need a new one."
Me: "You have 12 different Thomas trains. You aren't getting a new one."
Mini:"That is why I am anxious. My life is ruined."
I SWEAR THIS WAS THE EXACT CONVERSATION. I seriously think he gets up in the middle of the night and watches tv or something because I have NO idea of where he gets half of the stuff that comes from his mouth.
Won't You Jump With Me?
Spirit Jump was started by two cancer fighters to directly match cancer patients with gift givers, or spirit jumpers! This is so fantastic and fun! Your gifts can be small and even just be cards. This can be a one-time jump you offer or you can continue for as long as you like. You can also give to a variety of patients or continue to jump the spirits of the same one.
Molly Lou Gifts has also signed up to work with and support Spirit Jump. We will give financially, but also provide our shop as a great place for jumpers to find great gifts for their friends. We will offer you a 15% discount for any purchase made using the code spirit15 and will wrap and ship your gift along with a personalized gift message from you to your recipient. We are also contributing to the Spirit Jump raffles with all proceeds going back to SJ.
Our first spirit jump is for a little 3 year old boy, Michael from New York. We started with this little guy because as you know Molly Lou Mini #1 is also 3 and as I try to teach my children grace, humility, and generosity I can't think of a better way. Molly Lou Mini #1 drew a picture for Michael and even picked out a few items to send him. (You can see his picture below: it's a gila monster and a tulip. "Flowers that are pretty make everyone feel better.")We were told that Michael loves to receive mail, so we sent a card and picture separate from our little surprises. We chose our Robot Magnetic set from the Molly Lou Gifts Children's Depot because it is a compact tin that holds all of the magnets and creation boards. Mini #1 has this sets and loves to create funny robots and make up little stories about his robotic creation. We also thought this was a good little surprise as it is easily transported and can be played with during doctor appointments, treatments, or in the car. We also chose Alligator Alphabet book. We love this book's bright colors and illustrations. Again, can be read anywhere! I also sent a set of notecards to Michael's mom-this way she can send notes to friends and family with updates or even save for herself and write some of Michael's positive jump notes to keep and remember this journey.
After you sign up to be a spirit jumper, you will receive a Welcome Email that highlights some of the procedures and you will also receive some possible patients and a brief history/story of their fight before you send them a jump!
It only takes a minute to write a card or note to a friend and just think how that special note may help JUMP someone's spirits when they need it most. Won't you jump with me?
Thank you Spirit Jump! Molly Lou Gifts and the Molly Lou family look forward to working with you! Have a great day! Cheers!

Welcome Newest Member of the Molly Lou Family...NOW GO AWAY!
Blog Friends meet Fred!
I know what you're thinking...No, we did not add a new furry canine or fluffy feline to our family or a slimy one for that matter. I woke up this morning to an unannounced visitor...ON MY FACE!!!
I am too old for that dreaded z or p word. (I hate those words equally.) Went to sleep, nothing. Woke up this morning, stretched, and BOOM, there is a very unwelcome intruder near my chin. Not just a little no one would notice spot, but a MOUNTAIN. Seriously, you could climb this thing. Mini #1 ran screaming as he thought the thing was coming for him. (I'll be paying for that therapy in 20 years.)
This is gross and I apologize, but I am a z popper...get them off of me asap. (I don't need to hear any stories or dermatology studies about that...it works for me.) The only problem is, this intruder isn't able to be taken care of shall we say.
I cannot live like this. It is able to be seen from space it is so large and disgusting.
I have put some toothpaste on it and hopefully it will be gone asap. I will go out and spend the minis college fund if any of my remedies don't work. Work your magic Aquafresh!
I truly apologize that this was not patriotic, summery, and full of fun, but I cannot think of anything else. Please forgive me and have a great day. Happy Memorial Day. Cheers!

We All Live In...
Molly Lou Mini #1 to G.G. (great grandmother): "Are you ready to go?"
G.G. to MLM#1: "Where do you want to go, honey?"
MLM#1 to G.G.: "I'm going to my yellow submarine. You can come too if you want."
G.G. to MLM#1: "A yellow submarine. I have never been in one of those. Have you?"
MLM#1 to G.G.: "I had a blue one in the pool and I like to sing about a yellow one."
G.G. to MLM#1: "Can you sing for me?"
MLM#1: "Not right now. I have to go."
G.G. to MLM#1: "I'll pack my bags and come with you."
MLM#1 to G.G.: "I don't think we have room for all this stuff, G.G."

I Would Like to Thank the Academy
Oh, I can't believe this is really happening. I have just walked the red carpet in my knockout dress. (Award music begins playing softly in the background and people, lots of people are applauding) OH, they just called my name. I. Can't. Believe. It. OMG. This is really happening. I am running up to accept my award and thank all those who helped me get to this point...
The Queen of All Things Award was awarded to me by my friend Holly over at Pink is My Signature Color.Awe-Summm!!!
The steps to becoming a Queen are...
1. List Seven Things That Make You Awe-Summm!
2. Pass the award on to seven bloggers you read religiously.
3. Tag those seven bloggers.
4. Don't forget to link the Queen that tagged you.
5. Copy the pic of the Queen and put it on your sidebar.
Seven Things That Make Me Awe-Summm are:
1. I have two beautiful, healthy, smart, loving, and funny children. The Minis totally Rock!
2. Molly Lou Gifts...I have such an obsession with stationery and gifts that I started a business. It may not be a Fortune 500 company, but it's mine, it gives me something to work on, and a goal/dream to meet. I, of course think it is fantastic and hope to make it grow and grow.
3. I have a great husband. There are many things that drive me crazy about him, but he is a wonderful husband, friend, and father. After almost ten years, I am certainly a lucky girl to have Mr. Molly Lou.
4. Kate Spade is my BFF (in my head at least). I have an obsession/addiction...I can totally quit at any time though. No matter what my weight or how much I don't like my outfit, I can always have a FAB handbag.
5. I'm a Tiger, a Clemson Tiger that is. Not everyone can rock the color orange in the fall! College days seem so long ago, but what a great and memorable ride.
6. My family and friends are beyond words wonderful. I am so lucky to be apart of such an intimate circle of strong, loving, compassionate, honest, and fun people and am so blessed that my children get to a part of this group too.
7. I love, love, love to LAUGH. That saying, if you don't laugh, you'll cry. (I do cry a lot...it just flows), but I love laughing. We laugh a lot in my house and with my family and friends. It really is the best medicine.
I was also awarded this lovely award by my good friend E over at inkOBSESSIONdesigns, A at Perfectly Pleasant, and Mother Goose at Stroller Patroller. I truly thank you and think you are three amazing women. I am so lucky to have such great friends in Blogland.
So my official blog winning rules are as follows:
1) Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award, and his or her blog link.
2) Pass the award to 15 other blogs that you've newly discovered. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.
I so wish we could have a coronation ceremony or something as I nominate the following blogs for QUEEN and being LOVELY...how fun would that be! There are so many more I read each day (sometimes several times a day that it's hard to pick a few)! I understand that I am combining the rules a tad, but that is what a QUEEN can do and trust me, I have always known that I was meant to be a QUEEN!
Go check out these blogs: The Prep-E Girl, The Preppy Pink Whale (moi is also a contributor), Perfectly Pleasant, Always Organizing, Stroller Patroller, Preppy Pink Crab, Post Smith, Pink Cupcake, Flip Flops & Pearls (it's a secret society, but it's fun to be invited), Practically Perfect, All Things Southern & Preppy, Living in the Moment, and A Place to Dwell. Tell them who sent you!
I hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing Memorial Day Weekend. I can't believe it's already here. Can't wait to hear the happenings of everyone's holiday weekend.
Please Don't forget that MLG is donating 100% of our profits until the end of the month and then 10% after to the Boys Home of the South. Click here to read about Boys Home and more details on MLG's quest. Cheers!

Perfectly Kate Spade
PS-sooooooooooo disappointed in Ruelala's KS sale...no bags, clutches, or wallets...what?!?!?!?!
Mend Boys. Build Men.
I decided between two, Boys Home of the South and Ashley at Living Life Gratefully suggested The Roots for Music.
As most of you know, I used to be a teacher in my previous life before children and often taught in very low income areas and students who had several obstacles and issues in their life and combine that with now being a mother, we have decided on the Boys Home of the South at this time. The Boys Home of the South has a simple mission: Mend Boys. Build Men. This is a non-denominational residential group home that cares for, nurtures, educates, and LOVES troubled boys. They have a variety of programs and work to reunite families and care and love boys. These innocent boys have heartbreaking stories and are not in the care facility because of anything they did (I mean they aren't drug addicted or criminals). These are abused children who have witnessed, experienced, and seen the most terrible things and the Boys Home of the South is a place for them to be loved unconditionally and to just be the beautiful CHILDREN that they are. They have the Charles Aiken Academy on their grounds that is the smallest charter school in the country for the boys that need the extra attention and care, but the boys are also able to attend the public schools in the area. The course of treatment and stay is at least six months and all of the efforts are to ensure the daily care and enrichment of the boys they serve. The Boys Home of the South provides professional services and the boys participate in individual therapy, group counseling, family counseling, life skills development, sports, scouting, recreational activities on and off campus, and more. All of their efforts are working towards healing wounded spirits and teaching appropriate responses to living a healthy life.
I feel so passionately about this charity and hope that I can help in some way. I have applied to become a volunteer as well.
Molly Lou Gifts will give ALL of our profits for the rest of the month and then continue to give 10% each month after. We know times may be tight, but if you have a wedding, engagement, baby shower, bridal shower, or birthday gift for anyone, we hope you will visit Molly Lou Gifts for those gift items knowing that you will be getting a great product and helping a WONDERFUL and much needed charity at the same time.
We are so blessed and so incredibly fortunate for the life that we have built! Cheers!

Whine, Whine Go Away!
Overall, Mini #1 was almost a model toddler and we never really hit "the terrible twos." Sure, we had rough days, but we ALL do. He can get up on the wrong side of the bed like everyone else. Molly Lou Mini #1 was a difficult baby (and that is putting it lightly), so I thought perhaps we got all of the "terribleness" out of the way early. But mostly, I was SURE it was my (our) FANTASTIC parenting that was responsible for our sweet and almost perfect child.
WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!! I was sooooooooooooooooooo wrong. Now that we are half way through three, I can't take it. It is the constant whining and arguing. He never had tantrums, but now they have appeared and what seriously makes me crazy: THEY COME FROM NOWHERE!
Case in point:
Me to MLM#1 this morning: "What do you want for breakfast sweet boy? How about waffles and grapes?"
MLM#1 to me: "I don't want waffles!" (somewhere between scream/squeal and mix with whine)
Me to him: "What would you like then? How about some toast and honey? We have apples and oranges too."
MLM#1 to me: "I don't want that." Then, he is crying and in tantrum mode, even kicking while slightly flailing in his chair. MLM#2 and I just stare at him and we let him go about his "time" while waiting for the "storm to pass."
(a few minutes later) Me to MLM#1: "Did you decide what you wanted for breakfast or are we skipping it today?"
MLM#1 to me: (Happy, like NOTHING has happened): "I think I want waffles sweet mom."
Seriously, I may not make it to 4! I think Mr. Molly Lou puts him up to it sometimes. Cheers!

Technology: I Love You, I Loathe You!
Oh, for the love of technology. Seriously, I love it and loathe it at the same time. It is FANTASTIC when it works and HORRIBLE, DISGUSTING, WORTHLESS, and (feel free to add in your own adjective here) when it doesn't. My computer is 1.5 years old and over the past few weeks has been "acting up": sometimes it works just fine, other it decides to quit, and most RECENTLY it sometimes just decides NOT to turn on...for an entire day.
Yesterday, case in point. On Friday, I did a bunch of tests (I don't know what they actually tested) but the computer doctor was working some kind of magic. I was able to get it up and running and for most purposes, "normal" again. Last night, everything is fine, and then BOOM nothing. I spent ALL day trying to get it to work and it seriously wasn't until 9:30 last night before it could work.
I felt like I was going to hyperventilate. I hadn't checked email ALL day, I hadn't checked my friends out in Blogland updates and happenings, I couldn't see if there was any new news in the Jon and Kate fiasco, I hadn't checked on ALL of the orders I received (ahem, perhaps some of your computers were broken as well-just kidding), and I couldn't check to see if the house that I am pining for is still available. AHHHHH!
Ok, I took a moment to breathe and feel better now. You see, I am not even as "addicted" to this computer or my cell phone as some people, but when it DOESN'T WORK, I go insane. I feel like a drug addict going through withdrawals. I also internally go in to this rage mode like you see in the movies...I feel like I am blowing up like the Incredible Hulk and want to throw my computer through the window. Clearly, that is not very ladylike or practical and may frighten the minis just a tad if I did that. Also, Mr. Molly Lou wouldn't be pleased and then who knows what my new computer timeline would be.
If this keeps up, I may go prematurely gray, develop a twitch, or stop using technology all together. (I laughed out loud at that one, we all know that won't happen, so just keep your fingers crossed and say a little prayer that the first two don't happen to me.)
In other news: Enter the MLG Extravaganza contest until Thursday and also Flip Flops & Pearls contest until Friday. The details and links to enter are at left. "Snapshot Saturdays" starts this week...thanks to those who have sent theirs in...it's been fun to see so far. Keep sending them...links and info. at left.
Have a great day! Cheers!

The Lost Art...
~Jacques Barzun, God's Country and Mine, 1954
Last week I wrote about my book buddy and today I am writing about my NEW pen pal. That's right folks, I said PEN PAL. Are you feeling like you're in third grade again???
I hate junk mail and bills and that is all that seems to fill my sad little mailbox these days. I still feel like a little girl when I get a handwritten (gasp!) note in the mail. I can't wait to rip it open. It brightens my day to have a note from a friend just saying "hello" or "thinking of you."
I want that feeling more often. So...I got myself a pen pal. Yay! Clearly I love stationery since I made a business out of it. I am so excited to write fun little notes on my fabulous stationery to my pal about my day, a funny thing the minis did, a cool quote I read, or just to say hello and pass along that I hope the sun is shining on their day.
This could be a REVOLUTION. Just think if we all got pen pals and brought back to life the written note for FUN. We could all be happy and this could perhaps be the start to creating world peace.
Just think about it...
Have a great day! Cheers!
PS-Don't forget you only have until the 21st to enter Molly Lou's 50th Extravanganza Contest! You know you want the prize. Catch the details on the left. Invite a friend too...

I Scream, You Scream...
I usually keep a bowl of fruit on the table. We are a family of "pickers," so if there is fruit out, then it is better than crackers or cookies.
Molly Lou Mini #1 to Me: "You should put ice cream on the table instead of grapes. I love ice cream."
Me to MLM#1: "Me too Buddy."
MLM#1 to Me: "No, I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE ice cream. Much more than grapes or apples or strawberries."
Trust me Mini...ME TOO!!! See what I mean about wise!
Enjoy your weekend! Cheers!

Neat vs. Not-so-Neat
Case in point...
I realize that children are messy and I even surprise myself sometimes on my ability to ignore the mess and dirtiness or our children at times. Molly Lou Mini #2 loves to eat and just likes to play with a spoon, she does not like to feed herself yet. At seven months, we are still working on motor skills, especially hand-eye coordination.
Based on the pictures below, can you guess which picture demonstrates Molly Lou Mini #2 AFTER Mr. Molly Lou fed her lunch?????
You guessed it #1!!! Is it sooooooooooooooooooooo hard to put a bib on the child?????
This is what I deal with...
Have a great day! Cheers!

Hold My Hand...
I find it to be amazing how I can hear a song and it stops me dead in my tracks. It brings back the vivid picture of a time in my life. I have so many songs that I can draw up that image for that will forever be that way in my mind.
Yesterday, I was driving home from the library with the minis and I hear "Hold My Hand" by Hootie and the Blowfish. I immediately was a young teenager again wondering what in the heck those little munchkins were doing in the back of my ride. After it was over, I bounced back to reality and realized that those were in fact MY children and also heard it was Darius Rucker's 43rd birthday! Is that even possible?!?!?! They were just young lads a few years ago. I am from Columbia, SC which is also the home of the band. They are hometown "heroes", really made it big and put Columbia on the map. I used to see them around town, ate next to them a few times in different restaurants, even accidentally sprayed the drummer with a sprinkler as he was riding his bike past the house that I was house sitting for (a story for another day), and of course, saw several of their concerts. I remember DESPERATELY wanting to get tickets when they filmed MTV's Unplugged (how old I feel) on the university campus and crying when I didn't. Another time, begging my parents to skip school and be an extra in one of their videos, no go, and again crying (teenage hormones.)
Hootie et al has moved on, started successful solo careers, married, started families, and new phases of their life as have I, but whenever I hear "Hold My Hand" or "Let Her Cry" or "Only Wanna Be With You", I am transported back to being a teenager driving with my new found independence, a driver's license and singing along to the Cracked Rear View cd with my friends. Oh, how far that seems now!
In other news, Tomorrow is the last day to enter Prep-E Girl's contest with MLG stationery as the prize. See link at left. Also, new Molly Lou Giveaway Contest starts tomorrow in honor of our 50th post!!! YAY! Stay Tuned for Details.
Have a great Day! Cheers!
PS-After a few lines of the song, Molly Lou Mini #1 was totally able to rock out and sing "hold my hand" in the back. :)

I want it, I need it...
I mean seriously, 416 pages of CRAFTS and photos! I need this book like I need a hole in the head. I am not very creative, but I soooooooooooooooo desperately want to be. Regardless of how you feel about Martha, you have to agree that she makes everything look easy and has some good ideas. Since I have so much extra time on my hands, I'm sure that I could whip up a few crafts a day from her book-no problem! I just REALLY want it and I looked it up on Barnes & Noble's website and it is only $22.75...what a bargain!
I hinted at this to Mr. Molly Lou for a Mother's Day gift, but he has some hate towards Martha and clearly either didn't pick up on the hint or just ignored it.
Does anyone have this book?
Have a great day! Cheers!

Book Buddy
Anyway, the problems with book clubs are that I am fearful that I won't like it and people will laugh at me. You see, I use reading as an escape and don't always read the most intellectual books. I love a good, funny, mindless read..."chick lit" if you will. I am capable of and have read intellectual texts (just to set the record straight). What if I joined a book club and the people in the group weren't really my type;what if the book choice was B.O.R.I.N.G. and I didn't read it; what if I said that thought in the group and everyone made fun of me and made a face at me; what if it was my choice for the next read and everyone hated my choice and again made fun of me; what if someone asked me something in the discussion and I didn't know the answer; what if....
I know this all sounds trivial and it is. I seem to have a great fear that I am in middle or high school again of not knowing the correct answer and always wanting to fit in. I do consider myself a fairly intellligent person, but have always had this agonizing fear of being embarassed in a group of people I don't know well (that's a hs story for another day) and a separate one of not knowing the correct answer. These are the things that keep me up at night. That's why I always taught second grade...knew the answers there and pretty much still know all the answers to the mini questions (although Mini #1 has had some interesting ones lately).
Solution to my book club anxieties?????? Get a BOOK BUDDY! This is the best idea yet. You see, you and your book buddy exchange books after reading them. You can discuss or throw out thoughts and ideas with your buddy as you see fit via email, phone, text, lunch or coffee visit, but there is NO PRESSURE. No pressure to read the book within deadline, no pressure to pretend you liked it, and no pressure to purchase a lot of books. The deadline is a big one for me. There are some days/weeks when I don't read at all for fun and then others when I crave that time after the minis and the Mr. are in bed. NeedI remind all of you that we are in a recession and the prices of books aren't fitting in to some revised family budgets? This book exchange cuts down on those Barnes & Noble bills.
I do love Barnes & Noble and the book buddy system doesn't take that out of your life, only buys you more time in between visits, much to the happiness from the Mr. Perhaps your book buddy just makes a suggestion and you chat about it, the library is still there waiting for you. This is also helping you be eco chic-you're REUSING the books that otherwise would have just sat collecting dust on the shelf.
My advice...go get yourself a book buddy!! Have a great day. Cheers!
PS-perhaps all of the money that I will save because of my book buddy will allow me to purchase the yellow Preston Hollow Tote!?!?!?!?!

Mini-isms
Mr. Molly Lou was getting ready to leave and said "See you later kiddies" to us.
Molly Lou #1 said: "Dad, we are not cats. Mom and Molly Lou Mini #2* are girls. I am a man, not a cat."
I am a girl and he is a MAN. Love it!
Part 2
The Minis and I were at the zoo and one of the monkeys has recently had a little baby. Mini #1 loves to see this monkey because he is always flipping around and can't still (I wonder why he likes him?!?!?)
Mini #1 to me: "Mom, that little monkey is cuter than Molly Lou Mini #2* and that is pretty darn cute!"
He really does love his sister! Maybe????
Happy weekend. Cheers!
*Names have been changed to protect the innocent.

Then, come back here and leave a comment on THIS post (yes, this one I am typing right now) answering the following question: Where did my parents get the idea for my name? Need an example? Here's a word from my very own DM:
"When I was younger I loved to watch the Waltons. There was a character on the show named Erin. I thought it was the most beautiful name in the world. I knew I wanted to name my first daughter Erin." If you don't do these first two steps and your name is drawn, I will pick another name!!! FOR TWO ENTRIES: Let your readers know about the give*away! Put up a post, throw it on your side bar or send out 3 tweets about it (don't forget to let me know by sending them @ThePrepEGirl!!!). I know that it seems like a lot but, really it's simple! Then - on Friday, May 15th, I will throw everyones' entries into a hat (or randomizer) and pick a winner. (Remember, if you don't do at least the first two steps and your name is drawn, I will pick another name!!!) ------ Have fun and good luck!!!
***Don't forget the Stroller Patroller giveaway ends tonight at 6pm and the winner will be announced on Monday. I know some of you don't have minis, but think of the AWESOME friend you would be if you showed up with this at a friend's shower. People would talk about it for years. Check it out. ***

Perfectly Pleasant Chooses...
We have so many adorable social stationery designs. Here are two that I thought I would highlight and are quite lovely...
Love the little love birds on a cherry blossom branch (also available in blue and green). Perfect for engagements, shower, and wedding gifts. Personalized with the couple's name or monogram. And below, I love the little chicks. These notes say "Just a little peep from..." They include your family name and all of the names of those little chicks in your nest at the bottom. These are perfect for all notes to loved ones and friends. I have also had customers change the text at the top to say "Sending Birthday Wishes from..." or "Special thoughts on your special day from..." These are a great, personalized note from your entire family to send for those important life occassions.
Email is great, but I also love to send a handwritten note and feel that the "thinking of you" note is the one most forgotten. Our note sets can be personalized in any way you choose and with our social stationery line, you receive a proof before your order is printed and shipped. They make a great gift and are very affordable at $17.00 per set. Visit our Social Stationery page to see our complete line and new designs.
In other news: Remember to head over to Stroller Patroller for her stroller, liner, and adapter giveaway. Tell her MLG sent you. Ends tomorrow!
New MLG contest coming Monday! Stay tuned for details!
The Grey's Anatomy wedding is tonight! YAY! It's sad how excited I get for these things. Oh McDreamy...
Have a great day! Cheers!

For the Love of Kate Spade
In my head, Kate and I were destined to be BFF. I see us sipping tea by the pool of her elegant Hamptons Estate gossiping about the happenings from the soiree the night before, shopping together and "lunching" weekly, her calling me for my opinion on her new lines. (Clearly, she didn't call me with some of her recent shoe designs, but I still love her.) We could be like Oprah and Gail.
I digress, I am in love with this bag. This is the Preston Hollow Large Flower Tote. (It also comes in the grass color that I love, but I already have a bag in that color.) Apparently Preston Hollow is an old part of Dallas with grand manors; if anyone lives in Preston Hollow and wants to invite me over, I accept! How could you not love this bright yellow leather. Doesn't it just make you happy? And at the affordable price tag of $495 (katespade.com is offering free shipping-how nice), it's really a wise investment.
Mr. Molly Lou feels that it is not a necessity (or even an option). He decided to point out that I just recently got a new one. While that is true, it was't ANYTHING like this one and it was 60% off. While I agree with the "not an ABSOLUTE necessity" bit, I do feel that it is a wise investment. I mean do the minis really NEED to eat as much as they do? Does Mini #2 NEED to wear diapers? They are really smart children, so when they are in college, will they NEED those extra textbooks?
If any of you are thinking of buying this for me as gift, know that will be GREATLY appreciated. We can have that BFF relationship that I spoke of earlier with Kate Spade. I mean while I don't have a Hamptons ESTATE, I do have a neatly organized, quaint* home. Perhaps we can't "lunch" they way I was referring to, but I do know of really good little local deli and there is this great little tea/lunch spot we could venture to. I mean who really NEEDS the estate, shopping, lunching when we can have just as much fun at home in our exciting lives. Think about it...
In other news, my good friend Perfectly Pleasant posted about this fab giveaway at Stroller Patroller. Stroller Patroller is doing a giveaway for a TORO stroller, liner, and adapter...WOW!!! I want that stroller. Mini #2 gets all of Mini #1's old things, so she "NEEDS" this chic stroller. Head over there to enter and tell her who sent you.
Have a great day! Cheers!
*Isn't quaint such a fun word sounding so much better than small, cramped, etc.

And the Winner is...
In a totally random drawing this morning, Molly Lou Mini #1 picked the winning names (Mini #2 would just try to eat the paper.) I had the camera out to snap a pic of the winning names, but of course, my memory card was full. I could have taken the time to go through and delete some pictures, but the mini was too excited to wait!!
The winner of the Molly Lou Gifts "Countdown to Fun in the Sun" Contest is...
Perfectly Pleasant
Perfectly Pleasant has won a set of custom invitations and personalized notecards of choice. YAY!! Our second place winner is KAS who has won a MLG gift certificate! Girls, please email me-bbg@mollylougifts.com for the details on your prizes!
Thanks to all who entered! We will have another contest starting next week, so stay tuned for details on that. Don't forget to send us your ideas for the charity that MLG will give 10% of May and June's proceeds to. We want to hear from you!
I recently added a great new stationery set to the site. I am loving these Traditional Monogram Notes. These notes are available in white, ivory, pink, or blue papers and feature your three (or single) letter embossed monogram. I feel this set is so timeless and stylish. We all have so many notes to write that this is the perfect note to say hello, thinking of you, congratulations, or thank someone for a great dinner, gift, or gesture.
These notes would also make GREAT graduation gifts, wedding, engagement, shower, retirement, or birthday gifts. I just gave two sets for gifts and at $30.95 for a set of 50 notes and envelopes in a classic chocolate linen box you can't beat the deal (and we all love a deal)! Visit our stationery page on our website for all of our choices. Use one of our discount codes for extra savings!
Have a great day! Cheers!

Style on a Monday
I am having one of "those" days already. You know the ones where you wake up late, out of face wash and have to use (gasp!) soap, nothing fits (or seems to be clean even though I swear I did 243 loads of laundry this weekend, can't find the necklace I want, hate the hair, can't get the minis ready in time, the minis feel that breakfast is playtime and make a huge mess, and know that I have 98904532 things to do today, etc. On those days, I always love the above quote. Even if everything goes wrong today, I can ALWAYS do them with style!
Don't forget today is the last day to enter the contest. Winner will be announced tomorrow! The new, improved, fabulous website is up and running. I added a few new items this weekend and still have some to get up today. Check it out here.
Happy Monday! Cheers!

Scaredy cat, scaredy cat!
I really try not to be and totally get that it is COMPLETELY psychological, but sometimes I am just a wimp. So, the minis and I came down to take care of my grandmother last weekend. My uncle and his wife, who G.G. (great grandmother to the minis) lives with went out of town, so we came to be with her and take care of her this week. At 4:50 am on Sunday night/Monday morning the house alarm went off...that's right-WENT OFF: loud sirens, beeping, zones violated!!! This has never happened and I have been down here plenty. It's also never happened to my sister or mother when they have been here and never happened to my uncle and/or wife. GREAT and just my luck!!! I have an 85 year old woman and two minis and I am freaking out because the alarm has gone off and it's saying "Zone 6 violated. Bed Glass Break."
Perfect...the robber/murderer is breaking in through wherever the heck zone 6 is and he is going to take out me, the grandmother, and the gorgeous and perfect little angel minis sound asleep in the bedroom. I am going to give it my best movie murderer fight off though with all of those weapons I have stashed in my pj bottoms. Also, my uncle lives in a fairly small town in the oldest house in town with lots of DARK land around. Also, for whatever reason, the owners have an aversion to curtains, shades, blinds, etc. They feel they are isolated and like the natural light. Natural light is fab when it's ACTUALLY LIGHT OUTSIDE and the alarm isn't going off. I call the police and a ten year old police officer comes to tell me that he doesn't see any broken glass and we should be fine. He was also quick to point out that alarms are electronic and go off "all the time." RIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT...never happened before, but of course, happens on my first night alone with three people that are depending on me. Of course, my husband, momma, sister, or brother-in-law aren't here to protect me. I sure wish this alarm would have just gone off randomly when one or all of them were here to protect me. Spot, the big protector dog that reigns over this land was asleep in the master bath next to where I was sleeping and seriously didn't get up during the ENTIRE FIASCO...thanks for your help, Cujo!
Naturally, I did not sleep after this happened and then I couldn't sleep AT ALL the next night or the next or the next either. Every single noise, movement, creak, or possible noise, movement, or creak made me crazy. Did I mention this house is over 200 years old? Clearly, that means there are more creaks, movements, and noises in this house than in other homes. Literally, I have laid there thinking 5 hours 41 minutes until the sun comes up, 5 hours 25 minutes until the sun is up, 4 hours 59 minutes...you get the picture.
You might be wondering why I have been sharing this story. It isn't purely for the laugh factor, but people I am seriously going crazy. I am so sleep deprived and insane. One might say, why don't you get some sleep during the day when it's bright and shiny outside. Lovely idea, but I have two minis and an old lady ringing her bell every time she needs something. Molly Lou Mini #2 has taken her normal naps, but Molly Lou Mini #1 hasn't felt compelled to nap this week (naturally).
So, the lesson from this whole thing is that I am now certifiably crazy. It was a toss up before, but now we are sure!
Housekeeping: Don't forget to send over your suggestions for the charity MLG will give 10% of their proceeds to(I have received some comments and emails...thanks to all who have passed on ideas).
